Bible Journal is built with privacy in mind. Your journals are personal, and we treat them that way. We collect only what's necessary to provide the service, and we never sell your data.
Data storage
All Plans: Your journal entries are encrypted and securely synced across your devices. Bible Journal is designed to protect your writing. We use encryption to ensure your content remains private and accessible only to you.
Premium Plan: If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted and stored securely. You control what syncs and can disable sync at any time. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest.
What we collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide the service:
- Account information (email address, if you create an account)
- Usage analytics (anonymized, to improve the app)
- Crash reports (to fix bugs)
We do not collect:
- Your journal content (unless you enable cloud sync)
- Location data
- Contacts or personal files
- Data from third-party services
How we use your data
We use your data only to:
- Provide and improve Bible Journal
- Send you important updates (if you're on the waitlist or have an account)
- Fix bugs and improve performance
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond providing the service.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your journals at any time
- Opt out of analytics
Security
We take security seriously. All data transmission is encrypted with TLS. Cloud storage (if enabled) uses AES-256 encryption. We regularly audit our security practices and promptly address any vulnerabilities.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Bible Journal:
- Cloud infrastructure for Premium sync
- Analytics (anonymized)
- Crash reporting
All third parties are bound by strict data processing agreements and comply with applicable privacy laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Bible Journal after changes constitutes acceptance.
